I have a Lenovo ThinkPad 15 with Windows 7. Last night something strange happened and my wireless router lost all of its information when I opened my laptop. For about fifteen minutes it was invisible from all wireless devices in the house. I restarted the router multiple times and that didn't change anything. Eventually it became visible again but the network settings needed to be reset. I was able to reconnect all other wireless devices to the router, other computers, phones, tablets but not my laptop. I can connect to the internet through a wired connection and I am able to connect to other wifi networks as I was using wifi at work all day. I contacted my wireless provider and there is nothing that can be done by the router and they say it is my laptop. I updated the drivers on my laptop and no change. I'm not sure what to do other than reset my laptop to factory settings. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Solution
Look for a firmware upgrade for the router.

Try updating the driver on the laptop. In some cases, there is a later driver available directly from the manufacturer of the wireless card.

Restart the modem as well.

Try a USB wifi adapter in the laptop.
