Good mATX motherboard

I'm new to computer building, this will be my first build. I'm trying to build a cost effective rig that still kicks a$$.

Im looking for a good mATX motherboard that doesn't cost a arm and a leg but comes with at least hdmi and features.
Im currently looking at a :
MSI FM2-A55M-E33 AMD A55 FM2 Motherboard.

I know what usb's are but I don't understand how the different slots come in play. I would appreciate help and suggestions. I know my biggest cost will come from the gpu and cpu.
