Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X vs MSI Twin-Frozr R9 270 (no x)

Which one of these cards is better for gaming and overall performance? I know that the reference R9 270x is better standard than the R9 270, but does MSI give the 270 a boost over the Sapphire 270x? Both come in at the exact same price point for me.

The only difference between the two cards is core clock speed. So whichever one is clocked faster will be the faster card.

get the 270 if it is cheaper, they are practically the same - just oc it.

if whatever got the most clock speed then that would be the faster gpu.

BTW Sapphire makes the best AMD GPUs.

If you have a choice always pick Sapphire over anything else. Their overall quality is very solid.

getting the 270x over a 270 will mean that you are paying more for just a 100 mhz boost on the core clock which yourself can do in just 1 click with msi afterburner.

He did say they were the same price to him, so just get the fastest one. They have the same number of shaders, etc so they are identical other then clock speed. (One might have better things like VRMs or cooler meaning it's designed for OCing, but those are probably found on the 270X and not the 270.) Best of luck with the build Shay.
