I have a hard drive with windows 7 on it, but I was going to get a new hard drive because of some problems I'm having. Is it possible to just wipe the hard drive and use my old copy of windows 7 on the new hard drive?

Yes... you should not have any problems. However, which version of Windows do you have? If you have an upgrade version then you can't install that onto a new hard drive that doesn't have a version of Windows already installed... However, you can do it if you keep your old hard drive in the computer during the install.. but the problem with that is... your boot loader will be appended to the older hard drive and not written onto your new hard drive.

Alright, sweet. I built the computer so I don't think that I'll have that issue. Is there a recommended way to wipe the drive?
