Alright, so I'm trying to install my AMD graphics drivers on this new SSD. I have Windows installed on this drive and the old WD 500GB HDD. The drivers are currently installed on the HDD, but I would like them to be installed on this SSD drive. The SDD is marked as A: and the HDD is C:, but heard that AMD doesn't like being on drives marked A:. Is there any way around this, or do I have to format the old drive, mark it as something else, and rename the SSD?

That is better than I thought you might have done. But the fact that the HDD was still connected might be an issue. And the fact that it is a boot drive while installing to the SSD. Why not try again following this method.
Using your HDD w/Win7 installed, Download the version of Win7 from here that you have a product key for: http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-from-digital-river/
It will be in the form of an .ISO file for burning to DVD. If you have no optical drive and have to use a flash drive, download this little pgm. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

Then simply run the tool and have it make the bootable flash drive w/Win from the .ISO file. Very easy to do. You...

I believe that I installed Windows onto the SSD using a digital copy of Windows on the HDD. Would that cause a problem?

And would simply changing drive letters actually work? Wouldn't that mess up some programs that use that drive letter?

I have a digital version of Windows 7 on the HDD that I ran setup and installed onto the SSD. I had to do that since I had trouble creating a bootable flashdrive to install Windows onto the SSD that way. So, setup was able to install onto the SSD and it took over from there. So I essentially used the HDD to install Windows onto the SSD because I didn't have a boot disk and creating a bootable flash drive was troublesome.

Here is a small tutorial: http://arstechnica.com/business/2009/12/the-usb-flash-drive/

When you get Win7 installed to the SSD, you may want to tweak it for best results: http://www.computing.net/howtos/show/solid-state-drive-ssd-tweaks-for-windows-7/552.html

Hmm, I suppose I should have done this as soon as the problem arose. I've been using the SSD for some time now and have some programs on it. I currently have the AMD drivers installed on the HDD while running the OS on the SSD. Is there a way to reintall a fresh version, and reload everything that was on this version of Windows since it's the same drive?

And also, thanks for that tweaking guide for SSDs. Very helpful.

No way that I would feel comfortable doing myself. Best to bite the bullet and start over if you want a clean trouble-free installation.
Speaking of which, here is a nice guide to go by: http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds
Most of those same tweaks are in this guide.

Alright, thanks for the help. The drivers seem to be running fine so far on the other drive, I just get occasional crashes. I won't mess with it for now unless it really starts giving me problems. I'll inevitably have to reinstall Windows on this drive anyway, so I'll remember this when I do.
