I just bought an SSD and am trying to install Windows 8.1 onto it but every time it gets to 91% in the "Getting files ready for installation" process it gives me this error, saying "Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.".

I'm using an external USB hard drive to install with the extracted ISO files on it using WinToFlash. I already used this exact method with the same ISO to install Windows 8.1 for my original HDD and it worked flawlessly. The RAM has also been working fine so I don't think it's that.

Processor: i5 4690k
Motherboard: MSI Z87M Gaming
GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB

Solution
-first assumption would be corrupted file on your source.
-second guess would be BIOS bug in the USB support and it is corrupting a file as it is being copied from your USB source
- third guess was your USB drive was quick formatted and has data on a sector with read errors. (same file will fail the extraction process each time)
(do a full format (not a quick format) of the USB drive and reinstall the image to the USB and attempt another install)
