I have an electrical problem with my PC...not sure if motherboard is broken or PSU or my electrical set up, everytime i try to use my pc either my GPU or CPU OR the fans dont work, sometimes when I'm using the PC if I get it to start up the CPU stops working all of the sudden but the GPU continues to be on and the fans on it accelerated more, sometimes is the opposite, the GPU stops working but the CPU just keep on and its cooler and the other case fan over accelerate...and other times my PC won't start but this is "fixed" by unplugging the CPU and motherboard and plugging it back again...please help I dont know what the heck I can do to fix this

How are you exactly deducing when the CPU or GPU is and is not working? If the CPU is not working the GPU will have nothing to work with and won't update video. Does your OS run fine when the computer does work? We need a bit more details on what exactly is not working properly and what the effects are.

Well i open the case, to see what was the problem....and when my pc lost video, and I hear only the noise of the GPU, I realize that my CPU fan and the one in the back of the case just stop but the fans of the GPU are still spinning.

is your computer 100% reliable if you use it in a whole different location, like at work or at a friend's house? it could be brown-outs in your apartment, or really dirty power or noise from other things on the same circuit turning on / off (like fridge, a/c, etc)

Sounds like a PSU problem, but try running it from an electrical outlet on a different circuit - or can get an electrical socket tester and at least see if the outlet is wired right, I've seen some really lousy electrical in apartments - they often have 'maintenance' people that have no idea what they are doing and cross hot/neutral, leave open grounds, etc

Well this problem started a few weeks ago when i moved in to this appartment...the place is like 20-15 years old and I honestly don't think is the PSU is an evga gold plus 80 750W and is almost new (like 2-3 months)....any chance to deal with a lousy electrical set up?

Well i was thinking in make someone check the electrical set up in the appartment to determinate If there's something I can do about it...but if a UPS is the solution I guest I have to go for it..im gonna try my PC in a friends house this week to discard that is PSU fault
