Did I get the wrong compression fitting?

I recently bought Barrow compression fittings (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Barrow-Silver-G1-4-one-third-3-8-thin-tube-hand-tighten-fittings/1165895280.html), but when I tested if it fits my tubing, it doesn't seem quite right. The compression ring doesn't push against the tubing at all - its too wide. It seems almost as if the fitting were made for a thicker walled tubing, but it was advertised as 1/16 thickness (I have 3/8 - 1/2 tubing). Am I doing this wrong? Should I open a dispute with the seller for advertising incorrectly?

I don't know. I always use the millimeter measures so I don't get them mixed up. If they are saying 1/4 and 3/8 my guess would be that it is 1/4 inner diameter and 3/8 outer being that that 3/8 is bigger than 1/4 but if that was the case it should not even fit on your tubing at all.
