I have no clue what to look for in a cpu cooler and Id want to get one that will last and keep my system cool. So my build is going to be:
Msi 290x Gpu
Intel i7 4790k Cpu
Msi Z97G Mobo
and Im hoping to find a place to buy the Sentey Blade case. (http://www.sentey.com/en/blade-gs-6011) for space reference.) (PS if you know where i could get this it would be appreciated to let me know!)

If you need any more info please ask so i can let you know! Thank you all in advanced.

Unless you are planning some massive overclocks, like 5 GHz massive, a regular run of the mill 120mm tower cooler with copper heat pipes and aluminum fins should do the job for up to at least 4.5 GHz. If anything, the 290x should probably be liquid cooled before the i7 and that is for stock clocks. The Hyper 212 or any of the hundreds of its type tower cooler should do excellent for you (CNPS10X series is another personal fav). It will be just as quiet and it will cool the CPU just as well as a closed loop liquid cooler and cost much less. The only time I would recommend a liquid cooler over something like the 212 for mild or no overclocking is when you are using a tiny case like an ITX or really cramped micro ATX that has poor air flow. Since your case looks to be a big mid tower with plenty of fan mounts and lots of air flow, a tower air cooler is a perfect fit. If you want better temps, you can get a Noctua fan and add a 2nd.

He can't use the NHD14/15, but there are several other Noctua coolers that will fit like the NH-U9DXi4 which is about 125mm tall, the 140mm fan NH-C14 at 105mm and several low profile horizontal fan mount ones. But, they are all like twice the price of other similar coolers. If you can find a NH-C14 on sale, though, it might perform better and be quieter than a 212.

on the note of liquid cooling my 290x how would i do that? it idles at 40c-50c and i feel thats a little hot. It easily hits 90c after an our or so of gaming or video editing.

Already suggested but thanks for the backup.

90c is well withing the thermal design limit of the 290x and other late model high end AMD GCN cards. But, if you did want to get the temps down and noise along with it, you could do a Kraken G10 + Asetek closed loop cooler setup. I am currently running a reference Gigabyte R9 290 with a H90 mounted on the G10 bracket (about $35 most places) and it is idling about the same at 40c but the max temps are topping out in the mid 70's and I am overclocking it by about 20%. VRMs are an issue with this bracket but they sell a kit for that ($14 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835426042&cm_re=r9_290_vrm-_-35-426-042-_-Product) and it keeps both VRMs in acceptable temps b (under 90c). This is probably the 2nd cheapest method to liquid cool a GPU behind The Arctic Accelero kit which comes with everything for about $100 but doesn't cool the VRM so well with the heat sink that mounts on the back of the PCB for some reason (http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Accelero-Graphics-Efficient-DCACO-V860001-GB/dp/B00I3ETT84/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424409159&sr=8-1&keywords=gpu+liquid+cooler).
