KB/Mouse unresponsive at times

Hey, so I've been getting this problem where my keyboard keys and mouse clicks are unresponsive at times.

Recently my "old" keyboard broke (year old Razer keyboard, suddenly half the buttons stopped working, I might've spilled a drink over it earlier), but luckily I still had my Microsoft wireless keyboard nearby so I used that. Before this everything worked perfectly fine, btw. Then while using the wireless keyboard suddenly in games (but also while browsing) buttons are unresponsive, often I have to press a button multiple times before it seems to "register" my button presses. But then also my mouse started doing the same, I could move the cursor around fine but mouse clicks were getting the same unresponsiveness.

The mouse is a steelseries one that has been working fine, it's a wired mouse. The keyboard has 2 AAA batteries which I immediately replaced with new (full) ones. Problem is still there. So I was thinking maybe something is interfering with the wireless keyboard, but at the same time that doesnt explain why my mouse immediately started doing the same. I did a full driver install (correct / up to date drivers for both my keyboard and mouse) and I fully removed the old drivers. Problem still persists.

Both are connected through USB in the back of my desktop. I moved the keyboard receiver in the front USB slot to see if it would make a difference. It did not. Then I started looking at all the USB cables plugged in currently: Xbox 360 controller receiver, Sandisk external drive (for backup), mouse and keyboard. I also have 2 USB3.0 slots and a couple of the regular USB 2.0. I unplugged the XBox 360 controller receiver and tested again. Results are interesting, this time my keyboard is fully responsive and has been working perfectly fine. The problem seems resolved for my keyboard. But my mouse is still unresponsive, specifically the right mouse button. Now this mouse is kind of a "flashy" WoW mouse that has it's own lights and so on, so it does require (a lot?) more power then a regular mouse. So I'm wondering if this is a case of my computer simply not giving enough power to the USB ports? And thats the reason both my KB/Mouse were unresponsive? And how would I solve this if thats the case? I like this mouse I have since it has a ton of buttons and it has been working rather fine, however if it's simply draining too much power then perhaps I'm better off using a simpler mouse.

Any suggestions?

Right!

Well if you have some form of software that scans your computer it for some reason conks peripherals out, oftenly!

I have seen this with my own work computer, I have a CMStorm Devastator mouse and an old Logitech wireless thing!

This could be it however
