I just installed SpeedFan 4.50 hoping to reduce my CPU fan noise but the settings seems to be beyond my knowledge. My fan speed suddenly shoots up when when mouse is clicked and slows down when CPU is idle. I often touch the case to check if it's hot but it seems to be just warm. I think that my fan just isn't configured properly. After reading several forums, I even got courage to open up my CPU and clean the dust inside. Now it's dust-free but still makes whining noise. The noise also frightens me that the internals may get fried up or the fan will explode. Please help me configure SpeedFan optimally so as to reduce the unbearable noise.
