Guys..i do not know much about rams..i am using corsair vengance 8 gb ddr3 single channel ram which is supposed to run at 1600 mhz...when i open speccy...it shows that my dram frequency is 798 Mhz...is something wrong or is that how it should be?

Since it's DDR. (double data rate) you have to double what it says and that is the actual speed that's happening. The only time something like that should be slower than usual is if you have two difference speeds of RAM with each other. The fastest stick will always downclock to the slowest speed. Say you have 1600 and a 1333. Both sticks are insta 1333 unless you want to try and OC the other stick. But isn't really recommended.
