My BIOS is not detecting my Maxtor 500 GB SATA HDD and my compute failed to start. I connected the SATA cable and power cable. what I do to recover my HD to get data on it? The Hard disk is not function as slave?

Are you able to plug the hard drive into another computer to see if the hard drive is sitll working or not?

If its not detected anywhere about your only hope would be sending it to data recover center.

What do you mean by "failed to start"?

Does the computer begin to POST?

Does the drive spin up?

What is the model number of the drive?
