Hey guys.

Thought I would ask here as I have been seeing a fair bit of slowdown on PC at the moment and someone on twitch suggested it could be a memory leak.

Here are some screenshots of my task manager and resource monitor. When these were taken I had just started the computer and all that was open was chrome (2 tabs. This page and imgur) and then task manager, resource monitor, and paint (for my sick screenshot editing skillz).

If anybody knows if this could be a leak or anything else to help it would be very appreciated.

Thanks guys.

56% is fine. Your RAM is not the issue, not even close. 8 GB is plenty and Windows manages the RAM just fine. The RAM is designed to be used, having no RAM used is a bad thing as well.

99% usage I'd worry,

I'd actually recommend your monitor your page faults and not your RAM usage. High memory usage doesn't indicate poor performance unless your system is contently using the page file instead of the...

You understand the memory is not freed when the CPU is idle right? Close all those programs you're running and then see what your memory usage is. We can't really tell with all those web browser threads open.

I closed Chrome and my Memory is still at 56% usage. Main memory hogs are service host local system and antimalware.

Ah, glad I don't have to buy some new RAM then haha.

Thanks for the help Alec.

I don't suppose you'd mind helping me with my problem a bit more?

Assuming you don't mind I will go ahead and explain the problem.

Recently with my PC I have been suffering a lot of slowdown (as mentioned) with my disk usage going up to 99 and 100% sometimes when nothing is being used on the computer.

I don't know if this is related but when I am playing Battlefield 4 the game will run fine for a few minutes with frames being good and steady before experiencing massive frame rate drops. Down to around the 2-10 region. These drops aren't necessarily due to intense things happening on screen either. I will get these drops when clicking on the options button on the menu or going to change my class. I have a video here documenting the slowdown. The main drops are at the 27 second mark and the 1 minute 24 second mark.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYDMSxQK890

The game has been running perfectly at the settings displayed in the video for months. Only in the last few weeks have those sorts of drops been happening.

I have asked on many forums but as of right now have not come to a solution. Using the Repair option on Origin seemed to slightly alleviate the problem but it has come right back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
