I'm looking to get a gaming pc but not sure what processor or video card to put in? I'm looking to be able to play any game without any issues on high/ultra and watch streams on twitch should I put in a i5 or i7 And I'm going to use a 1080p tv as a monitor. I read about the gtx970 memory issue should I get the 970 or 980? Also is 8gb of ram enough or should I go with 16?

The 3.5GB VRAM issue is nothing to worry about, especially if you're playing at 1080p. I highly recommend it. I haven't run into a single game that I can't max out with my EVGA 970 SSC at 1920x1200 resolution.

An i5 processor is all you need, if gaming is your goal. 8GB of RAM will be more than enough, unless you're going to be doing heavy multitasking.

For an example...

During my gaming, I run Task Manager, GPU-Z, HWMonitor, PrecisionX and a few Chrome tabs. With all of these programs, plus my game running, my 16GB of RAM can approach 8-10GB of usage. If you expect to do something similar, then 16GB isn't a bad idea. if not, 8GB is plenty.
