which way should my cpu cooler face

Hey, I have a question I have an arctic freezer 13 and I'm gettingn a new psu what's in now was a loaner off a friend as my old one blew up so basically testing I didn't kill my system (it lives:) ). Anyway I have an amd system which leaves me with the option of the fan facing up to the psu or down to the gpu

My theory is upwards and the psu can extract but will that potentially overheat that, had one supply blow up on me and I got lucky don't want to chance it again

Orient the cooler to direct the hot air out the back of the case if you can.
The fan on a psu is there only to cool the psu if necessary.
If up or down is your only option, I would guess down,
In such a situation, you want good airflow from intake in front to exhaust at back.

The 92mm fan on a ac freezer 13 is not very effective.
If cpu heat is an issue, consider a cm hyper212 with a 120mm fan.

I think you would be fine either way. Having said that, looking at your mobo/case configuration, I would face the CPU exhaust down. Video cards are mounted upside down meaning that the top is just the circuit board, while the GPU (the part that actually gets hot) and its fans are underneath and pointed downwards. Having some minor CPU heat being blown down onto the circuit board is not a big deal. If you point it up, it looks like it would blow almost directly into the PSU intake fan. It would likely be fine either way, but my vote is down =).

2 votes for down, I also have 3 casfe fans one front 2 side all intake right now looking to get a exhaust one soon enough. As for the cooler I wasn't aware of the mounting situation until fitting it -_- . But since fitting it I've not seen temps above 46 and it's had a good run on prime 95. I know the easiest solution is a bigger case or new fan but baby on the way and having to get a new psu isn't doing me any favours in the girlfriends books lol
