Final build decision

Im looking to upgrade my CPU, motherboard and GPU in the coming weeks I already have hard drive and case etc. Just need a final decision before I buy
GPU - asus strix GTX 970
CPU - Intel i5 4460
Mobo - Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5

You could use a cheaper and/or H97 motherboard. Your CPU is locked and only SLI in the future would be a reason, as tiny voices has suggested.

PSU is critical for this sort of build. What are you using or going to get?

I have a 600w PSU right now but I can easily upgrade. I think I want this motherboard for future upgrades.

This motherboard would be good if you plan on upgrading to say a i7 4790k in the future, as the Z97 mobo's are better suited for overclocking.

If you plan to SLI later, I would want a higher grade PSU, at least Tier 1 or 2 from this list and 650 to 750 watts. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

^ doesn't matter really. It is not a really safe PSU and should not be used.

@Tiny voices, we have both told him that the PSU needs to be replaced and it is lower quality.

However, it is a Tier 3 unit, not some bomb in a box no-name tier 5+ unit. It will run the system, and the OP is not going to overclock, and is likely to fail sooner in years rather than later under the high performance demands of the proposed system.
