Hello everyone,

So this is for my step-dad's computer. It is a Windows XP (not sure which version, I think business 32 bit) with service pack 3. My friend's father put this computer together for him. He put a SSD in the computer (and set up windows xp to work with it) there is no HDD in the computer so far as I am aware.
So what happened. My step dad was gone for a day or two and left the computer on. Not an issue it went to sleep and just sat there. He came home. Noticed it was on but it worked fine. Last night he turned it off like normal and it powered down normally. This morning he turned it on and it brought him to the screen that asks if he wants to boot in safe mode (and the other safe mode options), start in the last know good configuration, or start normally. No matter which he tried it always brought him to the same screen. He asked me to look at it and I have been and here is what I have found and tried.

No mode I tried to load windows in worked. I managed to get a screen to come up and allow me to disable to automatic restart on failure and I found that trying to boot led to a blue screen with this stop message.
Stop: 0x0000007B (0xB9CC3524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

After looking around on the internet for a while troubleshooting and looking at other solutions. I found that the most common solution was to use the Recovery Console to check the disk or something like that. Not having a Windows Xp install or recovery CD. I downloaded this xp_rec_con.iso and used ImgBurn by following the instructions here
I put it in my step dad's computer and had bios boot from the CD first. And after pressing a key to boot from the CD and then let the windows setup go.
Then it brought me to this blue screen with these two messages
Stop: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0xF748E0BF, 0xF78DA208, 0xF7809F08)
pci.sys - Address F748ECBF Base at F7487000 Datestamp 367D855C

At this point I am not sure what to do. The computer is not very old (less than a year since we bought the parts) and I am hoping to not have to tell my step dad he has to buy new parts.
Thanks for your help.

EDIT: Just to clarify this PC was built in April 2014 by my friends father. And has been in full working condition until the day of this original post. No settings or hardware have been changed.

I will try to find the parts. I was not the one who put this computer together.

This is what I found from the list. Sorry I did not receive an email like I should have that people replied. Only checked here by chance.
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-7TE250BW)
Crucial 4GB Kit (2GBx2) DDR3 1333 MT/s (PC3-10600) CL9 Unbuffered UDIMM 240-Pin Desktop Memory Modules CT2CP25664BA1339
MI-008 Tower Black P4 Chassis with 250W Itx Psu+sata Power Supply
Gigabyte Intel NM70 Dual-Core Celeron 1037U with Built-In Mini-ITX DDR3 1600 NA Motherboards GA-C1037UN

In regards to why my friend's dad installed windows xp was because that was what he had access to install for free (having an extra copy or two laying around) to keep the cost down for my step dad. Also XP is what my step dad was familiar with.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GSQMTWM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is the one my friend's dad got for my step dad.
it says here "Memory: 2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory; Support for DDR3 1600/1333 MHz memory modules"

I hope that answers your question about RAM. I honestly don't know if it has built in RAM. Looks like it says it just has the ports that supports both 1600 and 1333 MHz memory

I would dig up the XP cd and do a repair install. That was one of the great things about XP was the ability to do a repair install from the install cd. Just make sure it's the same disk . XP could be picky about edition and distribution. The builder would probably be the best source.

You may be dealing with a stubborn bit of boot sector corruption. Newer drives can have issues with XP sometimes.

Here's what you want to do.

Step 1: Download this http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/. Hiren's Boot CD. You'll be able to bood from your DVD drive with this. TO start you can use the Mini-XP interface.

Step 2: Now before you go trying diagnostics, first check if the C drive partition even registers... which is simple enough to do. Just open explorer. . If all goes well. grab yourself a large USB and copy all the important data files. since the next steps can be messy.

Step 3: What you do next will probably be up to you. You can, once your data is safe, simply reformat and repartition the drive, reinstal all your software and such (this may be the faster solution. The other .. well start by running MBRFix, then Chkdsk on the C drive... see what happens. A warning though.. it can get very messy if the problem is a corrupt MFT
