Question about SATA power connecters

hard drive and cd roms have sata power plugs on the rear of the drives. if that what your asking. the other end of the sata power comes from power supplys. look at the spec of the power supply each unit will have a set amount of sata power plugs on them. if you need more then they make 4 pin molex to 2 sata power plugs. the other issue with builds is the lenth of the sata power cables and there placement on power cables and the placment of sata drives in the case. some time the power cable can be too short to reach to top of some tall case and you have to use an extender cable or the drives are to far apart for power cable to reach both drives.
