Just built a new PC a week ago with Windows 8.1 and I'm having a strange audio issue. Will randomly pop up with a notification saying an audio jack has been plugged in which basically locks up my system. Sound stops working as well as my keyboard and mouse. Rebooting fixes this issue until the next time it happens which seems to be completely random.

Tried disabling the notification and now Windows give me an "unrecognized device has been plugged in to usb" with the same outcome, no sound keyboard or mouse.

Using GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P Motherboard.

Have updated to the most current Realtek drivers and tried using the older version that came on the disc but nothing seems to fix this. I'm wondering if i just might have a faulty motherboard.
