Hello,

I am buiding a new HTPC for my living and have most of the components already just not sure on what case i want.

Trying to keep it as silent as possible.

Currently have these Parts and would like to reuse if possible

GA-H87N-WIFI
i5 - 4670 (Non-K)
CM Hyper 212 Plus
Corsair Vengeance RAM
OCZ 750w PSU
DVD Drive
SSD
1 TB HDD 3.5
SAPPHIRE HD 7970 GHz Vapor-X

the 3 Cases i am currently looking at are.

1. Cooler Master Elite 130 --- due to the size constrants i don't think my currentCPU cooler and maybe even the ram wont fit in here
http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mini-itx/elite130/

2. Cooler Master HAF - Front PSU Mount. - this will fit everything but the length worries me and will stick out on my entertainment center
http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mini-itx/haf915f/

3. ThermalTake Core v1 - This will Fit Everything expect the CPU Cooler and the DVD drive Bay and I am not sure if im willing to part with that yet

Looking for any other case recommendations or feedback thanks.

Here's my build log http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2328703/build-log-mini-itx-middle-school.html

The case is the Silverstone Milo ML07. It won't fit your cooler or dvd either. I have moved to an external DVD that I can use when I need to and loan to friends. I don't need one permanently on my system. I'm using my standard stock cooler and would use a Zalman 8900 if I needed to upgrade.

Our new build uses the Thermaltake Core V1 http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2516487/build-log-mini-itx-middle-school-student-build.html

I don't think that there is any case I'd call a HTPC case that will take that cooler; it's just too tall. The Thermaltake Core V21 is bigger, but will hold your parts...

i have that same board (rev.2) in an Antec ISK600 case, which uses a slim DVD drive. it's at work so i can't take measurements of outside / inside space, but it's a case i'm very happy with. i'm using the stock cooler on my i3, but i avoided any case that shoves the PSU right above the CPU just in case i ever put on a larger cooler.

I think that all three of those cases are ventilated enough that you could do away with the CM Hyper 212 Plus and use the OEM hs+fan (if you still have it). I'd supplement that with some good, large, intake & exhaust fans though. In my HTPC, I've found that the loudest component is my graphic card. The little fan on that thing gets to spinning and is SOMETIMES noticeable. Other than that I've got 2x 120mm intake fans & 2x 120mm exhaust fans (one in back & one on top) + my PS's exhaust out of the bottom-back. That's in a Antec Three Hundred ATX mid-tower. I'm telling you - I NEVER hear that thing running, except for the occasional "whir" of the graphics card fan. BTW - My graphics card is a Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon 5770 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI-E 2.0 16x, 100283VXL (I built my HTPC in 2009 as a Christmas gift).

Thats a Good Looking Case. i will have to do some research to see that my PSU and Graphic Card will fit in there correctly. ANd i agree with you about the PSU Over the CPU.. i built a friend a HTPC system with that Case.. it was a very tight configuration.

my CX430M power supply fits perfectly (modular connectors accessible from left side of case), as does a GTX760. only "gotcha" is that the HDD bracket / cradle that goes along the top needs to be removed. but there's space for 2 SSD and 1 3.5" HDD even without it. and the board only has 4 SATA ports if memory serves, so that's A-OK with me.
