I have a confounding problem that apparently has no answers on Google. Recently, all four components of Office 2007 I have installed on my computer (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Publisher) will not display characters properly. I've attached a picture to show how they appear, since that will almost certainly be more informative than my attempts to describe them:

I think this issue is limited to Office 2007 because I don't notice it elsewhere, but I'm not certain that is the case. I'd greatly appreciate if anyone could help me resolve this, and if it's something obvious please feel free to get a couple laughs in before you tell me the answer.

For reference, my (relevant) computer hardware is the following:

Gigabyte GA-DS3R
Core 2 Duo E6750
Evga 8800 GTS 512
4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2
BenQ FP202W

I ran the diagnostic tests 3 times and they each came back clean. The button to "Continue" after a test was complete led to a Microsoft site page that no longer existed, so maybe the tests aren't functioning right, but either way they're not able to determine the problem. Are there options specific to font rendering in Office that might be tweaked?

I wish I could see the images at work, but I can tell you that there is a bug with nVidia drivers and Office, your version is actually one that I have seen it happen with. It makes Office, and only MS Office look like it's running on a Windows 3 machine. Check if you have the latest drivers for the video card.

I actually have to put in a disclaimer that I don't know if it's a documented bug, but in my testing this issue I found out it only happens on those systems with nVidia video cards and only after drivers were installed. I think the specific cards I had issues with were 8400 models but dont remember exactly.
