Hello everyone, I have a budget for a whole rig with OS And monitor ( got my own Razer Blackwidow and Corsair M65)

CPU Don't Really know what I would need to edit and still play game reasonably well. I kinda want to get an i7

CPU Cooler Something reliable and quality. Its really up to you!

Case Full Tower, along as it is solid and quality, Its really no problem whether it is a Define R4, 900D, Cosmos & Cosmos 2 or anything else.

RAM 16GB minimum 32GB would be awesome and I think I can get it at this price point. (I really stick to G Skill, Corsair, Crucial, and Adata mostly..)

Motherboard Really want a solid board that cuts the crap and gives everything a Gamer and Editor would want. 64GB+ ram support, I plan On upgrading soon after I build it.

Graphics Card Best Bang for the Buck

Storage 4TB HDD and 256GB SSD.

OS Windows 8.1

Optical Drive Cheap, and robust, but useful is all I need. I own a large collection of movies on disks and I like to watch them on my PC!

Monitor 20" - 27" I don't need triple monitors, or anything absurd. a 20" monitor or 27" is fine.

If you go over budget, It's fine. As long as it isn't over budget more than 300$. This Isn't my first build, But is my first one for me! I have been using an old modified Dell for 2-3 years. I think I will order parts in 5 weeks.

For gaming/editing purposes I'd go with something like the 4790k. However, if you're doing much more editing than gaming than an X99 build might benefit you more, but would run costs up.

In regards to:
RAM: 8gb is all you need for a gaming rig, 16 is plenty. As for motherboards, 32GB is the maximum for the boards compatible with the 4790k.
GPU: This GPU is overkill, if you have the extra cash to spend on it than go for. If not you could opt for a GTX 970/980 which you could SLI in the future. But it's your choice.
Monitor: This is a 144hz monitor which would be great for gaming

I left the monitor open since I'm not up on what's the best bang for your buck but that build is a beast of a workstation and will max any games at 1920 x 1080.

What type of "workstation" use do you anticipate? This will have a major impact on the type of machine to build IMO. Image and video manipulation can be done just fine on a gaming machine, but 3D modeling and CAD often can't. "editing" is sort of vague. What are you editing?

FYI: 1150 socket will only support up to 32GB of RAM. 2011-3 with X99 and i7 will support 64GB RAM, 2011-3 with C612 and E5 will support 128-768GB per CPU socket depending on a number of factors.
