Using a NAS across multiple networks?

I was thinking about building my own NAS, due to its extra functionality when compared to just buying one, but I was wondering if I could use it across different networks. I have a few locations where I would like to backup highly sensitive data and since buying multiple NAS can get expensive, could I connect all computers in different networks to a single NAS? Internet speeds shouldn't be a problem since all locations have at least 100mb/s. For example, there are three different networks with different computers in them. We'll call them A, B, and C. If I put a NAS at B, can I backup the computers from A and C, or would I be restricted to only B? Also, since I plan on using FreeNAS with ZFS, is ECC RAM required because finding a motherboard that supports ECC is quite pricy. How much RAM would I need for say, 8 Terabytes (4x2TB) in RAID 5? Any help is greatly appreciated.

The three networks are in completely different locations in completely different buildings. They all have the same ISP, but each network has its own IP address and is not connected to the others. Each location has its own network set up with the router, modem, and any other network essential items. I'm not quite sure how to go more in depth than that because I'm not that well versed in networking, but just think of it as three different businesses that are completely unrelated and not connected. And I was wondering if I could back up all of these unrelated businesses to a single NAS.
