Windows 8 irql_not_less_or_equal error please help

Quoting MSDN "message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory address to which it did not have permission to access. The most common cause of this error is an incorrect or corrupted pointer that references an incorrect location in memory. A pointer is a variable used by a program to refer to a block of memory. If the variable has an incorrect value in it, the program tries to access memory that it should not. When this occurs in a user-mode application, it generates an access violation. When it occurs in kernel mode, it generates a STOP 0x0000000A message. If you encounter this error while upgrading to a newer version of Windows, it might be caused by a device driver, a system service, a virus scanner, or a backup tool that is incompatible with the new version."

Basically I would check all of your drivers and update all of them, also, I would check your software that has been installed and double check that it's compatible. What are your full system specs?

Go into device manager and just manually update everything that you see

. Also, go to your motherboard website and GPU website and download the drivers for them from there too.

Quite honestly, the quickest solution for this is to reinstall windows

I could do this, but i believe there is files that my manufacturer had put on the pc and if i do that i may not be able to get them back. I mean if their not important files I'll do it I just dont want to lose anything that is important That came with the pc.

Normally if you purchased it pre built, there should be a recovery partition on the drive. Also, if you want, you can copy the files over to another storage device before formatting and installing Windows again?

Not guaranteed but most likely yes. Before doing this though, run memtest and prime95 to stress test and see if it may be related to the system being stressed.

Yes, it was pre built, where exactly is the recovery partition?

It should just be a partition on the hard drive. To view them, follow this tutorial http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/305/~/how-to-view-partitions-in-windows-%288,-7,-vista,-xp%29 and post a screenshot of the drive in disk manager.

No - that's system reserved - the files that windows uses to boot - I presumed that there would be a recovery partition but there may not be one - can you put a screenshot of the disk management window the looks something like this?

OK, you don't have a recovery partition then - whatever the manufacturer put on the PC will be on the C: drive somewhere.

your system bugchecked because of a bad address passed to a function.
most likely caused by the various overclocking drivers you have installed on your machine.
I would remove: (you have two copies of the same driver installed)
