Hey guys, i needed some assistance in choices, first of all i wanted to say that i am starting to feel disappointed with Radeon compared to Nvidia in terms of performance throughout the many cards i have had, but anyway as the title goes, i want to know which will be better for performance, i run games at approximately 1280x1024 Resolution which is really high or anything, and i wanted to know if transitioning from my HD 6870 to the GTX 295 will be better?, i'm not fussed about overclocking and generally i play games like world of warcraft and league of legends, and recently my frames drop so badly, my drivers are up to date, computer has been cleaned out and everything, i will clarify your possible questions with my specifications, now i am also upgrading my processor because it is really weak.

Processor: Intel Celeron G530 (On a budget to buy a Intel i3 2100)
Graphics Card: XFX Radeon HD 6870 (Want to move to a cheap Nvidia card that performs well hence choosing GTX 295)
Power Pack: Antec 520W Gaming High Current PSU
Ram: 8GB Corsair Vengeance
Motherboard: Z77 Extreme4

Also i would like to ask if my power pack will manage a GTX 295 as i know it can be power hungry but i don't overclock what so ever and i'm thinking of removing my disc drive since it isn't used for anything, i'd also like to point out i use 2 Hard-drives, 1 Flash and a Normal HDD.

Lastly (i'm on a really tight budget)

The Help would be greatly Appreciated :)

Prices for used GTX 295s look to be in the $70-$80 range. Even if 'free' a power-hungry DX10 card from 7 years ago as we are on the cusp of DX12 is likely not the best of plans. In the above price range this is what you are looking at ...

MSI R7 250X 1GD5 1GB: $71 after rebate

If you just must have nVidia:
Asus GTX 650 1GB Recertified: $80
or
Asus GTX 750 1GB : $95 after rebate

Here is Tom's review of the R7 250X

At best, any of these cards are a parallel move form your HD 6870 (if it were performing to standard). My suggestion would be to fix whatever problems you are having with the HD 6870, and replace your CPU.
