Hello all,

Im building a watercooled gaming pc and im ready to buy fans, rads etc, my problem is which is the best way to set up the fans/rads and how many do i really need? Heres the info...

So my case is the Lian li PC-D600
Im going to be cooling 2 GPUs, CPU and MB.

The case has 2 compartments, in the right compartment it has 3 120mm/140mm fan mounts on the rear, and in the left compartment (window side) it has 3 140mm fan mounts on the front, 2 120mm fan mounts on the roof and 140mm fan mount on the rear.
And if need be i can replace the HD cage in the right compartment with 3 more fans at the front.

My plan was to have a triple rad in the right compartment in push/pull at the rear of the case as an intake, because i could mount a triple rad in the left compartment at the front but i want that area for my reservoir as its window side.

So in the left compartment that would leave me with 2 120mm fans as exhaust in the roof and 1 140mm fan at the rear as exhaust aswel, these are also the fans that surround my Mobo etc

What do you think to that setup, does it sound about right or do i need more intake fans somewhere? and is it enough rad to cool my blocks?

I also need a little advice on fan rpm, low for exhaust fans and high for rad fans?(depending on rad fpi)

Im kinda throwing myself in the deep end here as its my first ever build of any sort PC wise, and im spending alot, just got my rads/fans and GPUs left to buy, but im trying to do plenty of homework and get it right, so any advice is hugely appreciated.

I'll look more into this a bit later. For now though I suggest both low rpm for rads and casefans themselves. 2 360 rads should plenty for CPU, 2x GPU, and MB. My old WC build I cooled my MB, CPU(3930k OC'd), and gtx 690(dual GPU card) using a single 480 rad. Temps were good but fans were too loud. My new setup I went for more rads and low speed fans.. Much happier with better temps &lower noise. My rad fans are running at 1200rpm and my case fans are at about 900 rpm. Since your cooling your motherboards VRMs as well, you really don't need much airflow other than thru the radiators.

I see what your saying and i think that might be a better idea, do you think id need to have the rad fans in push/pull?

Only issue id have tho is having a 360 rad in the left compartment would mean i have no place to mount my reservoir so il have to look at the room id have left, trying to avoid a bay reservoir as the current one matches my tubing.

Another option, though less cooling capacity, would be you a 420 instead of a 360 in the right compartment, and a 240 rad top mounted(if mounting hole spacing allows) on the left compartment so you could keep your reservoir. Just a thought, otherwise you may have to get creative and somehow mount the res behind the radiator on the left compartment somehow.

Yeh this is something i thought about actually.
I can fit a 420 in the right and left compartment which is what id do if i could squeeze the res in the left side, but theres pretty much zero room with a rad installed at the front.

But if i cant find an alternative for the res then a 240 up top in the left will work, i could fit one there no problem.

Im considering 2 of these or 1 and a 240.
Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis Radiator GTS 420

With these nice low rpm fans.
Noctua NF-P14s REDUX 900RPM 140mm

As for push/pull i prolly wont bother if theres not a huge difference in temps then.

And thankyou i really appreciate the advice, its already made a difference to my build plans, glad i havnt jumped the gun.

It should work out pretty nice as long as i take my time and read up on everything properly, theres always good advice on here.

The next hurdle will be setting up rigid tubing, thats when the real fun starts
