Ethernet cable wont connect to the internet

Hey, so I recently just built a PC, and Ive done everything fine, but when i plugged the ethernet cable in it doesnt recognize that it is there. ive tested it on my brothers laptop and the cable works fine. ive gone on to device manager and there's no yellow markers but i updated it and the didnt work i then uninstalled it and neither did that work. ive also tried to find some drivers online that might work but it still does not work. the mother board is gigabyte 970A-ud3p, amd fx 6300 cpu, saphire radeon r9 270x, thank you for any help given.

i dont have a wifi card on the pc, sorry i just ment that we use wireless for are phones and laptops

hmmm...
Cable works with another device
Drivers installed
still doesn't work.

Possibly powercycle the router and PC after connecting the PC in question.

that didnt work either, could it be the motherboard in general.
