This is a re-post as I posted this thread in a forum area.

Recently I upgraded my PC's Processor, Motherboard, PSU, Graphics Card. Ever since if I try playing any 3D games from Torchlight 2 to Space Engineers it will crash and my PC instantly restarts. I made a (quite) crappy video on it happening while loading into a Space Engineers game.

Specs:

Windows 8.1

AMD A8-6600K APU
GTX 750 TI
ASUS A78M-E MOTHERBOARD
6 GB DDR3 RAM
650W POWER SUPPLY <-- Note: The brand is fairly cheap, may this be the cause?

Edit: Yes I do have the most recent graphics card drivers. And the processor is not overheating. I'm wondering if a bad power supply could be affecting the graphics card, which results on game failure?

Need help with this ASAP

power supply, i call it the black screen...

i ran into it when i was using a gtx970 with a dedicated 500W psu... started a game, and just black screen computer sounded like it was running still... are you able to swap the power supply out with a different one to see? i went overkill and installed a dedicated 1200W psu for my system and no problems at all.

I also agree. It's very likely the power supply is *just* barely sufficient after your recent upgrades. That's why you can pass POST and use Windows but not game.

Get a higher wattage PSU or borrow one from someone to confirm.

I'm a 57 yr old newb but like a lot of folks I could not get most games on Steam (not Origin) to play for more than a few min. b4 crash. Sad to say but now I can play CODAW, Crysis 2, 3 and Battlefield 4 seems like forever, no crashes, nothing stops. I just uninstalled any game enhancing software or did not use them, nothing is overclocked FX-8350 at 4.00 MSI 290 at gaming 977 core. One thing puzzeled me my paging file was recommended to 4277 when I have 8192GB of RAM. Set custom paging to 8192 and that seemed to be the last piece to having ALL my games working as long as I like. I read ALL of these tips on several websites thus I take no credit for anything.

I also have a Zotac GTX 970 that I applied all the tweaks that gets my current system working but seems like nothing changed. Used the driver CD in box and the last 3 driver releases-NO JOY.
