Newly built pc turns on but won't display on monitor, any suggestions?

I have recently gotten my last part for my pc, and have finished building it today. I have everything seems to be correctly placed and plugged in, but my monitor does not detect any signal. I have tried multiple monitors, hdmi, vga, with and without gpu.

Specs:
Psu: Diablotek DA series 400w
Cpu: Pentium g3258
Mobo: Asrock H81M-HDS
Ram: Mushkin Enhanced Pc3-10666 (2×2gb)
Gpu: MSI Gtx 750ti 2gb Twin Frozr
HDD: 1tb Seagate Barracuda 7200
Case: Diablotek Diamond

PSU is trash and needs to be replaced ASAP.

You have the monitor connected to the GPU, not motherboard right?

on your motherboard look at the bios rev sticker. that motherboard needs bios 1.60 to post with that cpu. if it lower then 1.6 you have to have the vendor flash the mb for you or replace it with a mb with bios 1.60 or higher.

I have tried connecting to the gpu and the motherboard, neither of which have worked.

Where is the motherboard's bios rev sticker located?

find the sata ports on the laptop. look left of them for the pannel 1 conenctor. above it is a 8 pin chip. that the cmos chip the lable should be on the chip.

I see what you are talking about and it is labeled as "P1.60", so I assume it is 1.6.

on the outside edge of the mb is the 4 pin power plug connected and is the mb sitting on the 6 brass mb standoffs???

Yes, the motherboard is securely on the standoffs and I have the 4 pin power plug connected near the cpu.

IF it doesn't work, it is probably the PSU, which should be replaced before you use the computer anyway.

I have tried everything on that list prior to posting this thread. To verify it's the psu, what would be some signs of the psu being the fault?

That fact that it is a bottom tier unit, and general piece of junk. Even if it worked we would STRONGLY urge you to replace it because it is a danger to your computer.

I do plan on replacing it, as I am mostly using this to start the build and to ensure the parts work properly. Though if the psu were a big problem to starting the pc, wouldnt it fail to power the motherboard?

No, a PSU can power a computer and still be causing damage. PSU issues cover a HUGE range of things. I would replace it before you do anything else.
