Mother Board
Umm, i havent really decided which mobo yet :( donno which processor is best for which one..

Couple of questions..

1. I really wanna go for AMD as it is cheap and more cores for cheaper price but i have never used it before and i want to know does it Heat really quick ? or do u think intel i5 is better as i had no problem with intel processor for 5 years !!
2. I have a Power supply of vx450 w, if i am upgrading my processor, motherboard and ram do you think i need upgrade it as well ? or vs450 is fine ?

400 MHz DDR3 ram does not exist. Can you check to make sure it is DDR3?

Definitely get the 4th Generation i5. That is the new model, and the money you save opting for the 3rd gen will be minimal. If you can, get an i5-4460 or 4570/4590. Those all have .2-.3 GHz higher clock speeds, so if the price difference is like $5 between a 4440 and a...
I would recommend getting a used Core 2 Quad Q8400 for your computer actually. The processor you have now is a dual core, and trying to run all those programs at once will quickly slow down your computer with a dual core. Keep your current motherboard and just upgrade the CPU. You have to make sure your BIOS is up to date to get a Q8x00 or a Q9xxx series CPU, otherwise I'd stick to the Q6600.

Tell me if that sounds like a good option, or I can help you with a whole new computer. Just remember that you will have to either reinstall your Windows copy when you switch motherboards, or you can delete all the drivers from the old motherboard BEFORE you put in the new one.

The VS450 will do just fine. If you want to overclock your AMD CPUs, then you will start to have issues.

Thanks ben, I really don't mind Installing a New OS i am done with this Core 2 Duo I want more cores for my PC (Better Processor) so that i can run those 3 application smoothly and I really don't mind changing my Motherboard :).

Would definitely love a new config for a Pc but with a Low budget :(.. its ok if the budget goes little higher maybe Rs 20000 ($350). But i really want to build a good low budget gaming pc as i wont upgrade for another 5 years :S

Okay, I'd get an i5 definitely if you want it to last that long.

Like bignastyid said, Intel has far better single core performance, and if you plan to use an AMD processor for 5 years it will (and already is) starting to hit a performance wall in some games.

If you already have DDR3 RAM in your current PC, you can just use that. I'd start with a single 4GB stick and then get another 4GB stick to dual channel the RAM later once you have money.

If you plan on sticking to the i5 (no upgrades), I'd get yourself a basic, cheap H81 motherboard.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks guys, I think i will go for i5 then does it matter which gen do i buy?? 3rd or 4th gen and one more thing the current ram i have is 4gb ddr3 (400 MHz) (2x2gb).

Does increasing the "MHz" really matter ? i was thinking of getting the Corsair Vengeance that is 2x 4gb (1600 Mhz) as i can afford this now.

Please let me know the best option, Sorry i am dumb in all these stuff :p
