So first off, I'm running windows 8, I have an msi gt70 with an i7-3630qm. I have a ssd with 128gb's and a hdd with 750gb.
I tried to update something and it told me there was no room to download anything new. So I checked and my ssd is full but I cannot see my hdd anywhere. I've seen it before there so know it should be there, and I also know it's got plenty of room on it. I tried to restart and sometimes I get the automatic repair option, which freezes, and sometimes it will load normally.

Either way, still can't find/access my hdd. Im guessing it became corrupt but I don't really know what to do about that. I tried refreshing my pc but it said I didn't have the windows recovery media needed to do it.

I've checked both disk management and device manager, and it doesnt show up there either. Just my SSD. However if I go into BIOS, then under main, if I go to SATA information I can see it there.

Hey there, Citium!

I'd suggest to check your motherboard manufacturer's website for any SATA driver or BIOS updates.
Another thing you could try to troubleshoot the issue is change the SATA cables connected to the HDD. Maybe the cable is faulty and it's not supplying the drive with enough power. Doing this on another computer is also advisable.
You should also reset your BIOS by re-seating the CMOS battery and see if that will help you. Here's a tutorial how to do this: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS

Keep me posted! :)

I have a very similar problem. I have FOUR 3TB drives that came out of a NAS enclosure that no longer functions. I figured I'd reformat the drives and write 0's throughout the drives so I could try using them in the new NAS enclosure that's on order. I sequentially plugged each drive to Sata3 and restarted the PC. In each case, I could see each 3TB drive in the UEFI bios, but I was unable to get the PC to recognize there was anything whatsoever plugged into SATA3. NOTHING but my C:\System drive in SATA1, D:\Data drive in SATA2, zip.sqat shows up in SATA3, DVDwriter in SATA4. How do I get a 3TB drive to show up? Do I need some special driver to recognize the over 2TB drive? I thought a UEFI board and Windows10 cured that fiasco???????
