Just to be clear, I have already put a parts list tougher - can be made available on request, with all the needed parts to build a pc, for my gaming and photo editing needs. Comments on build are welcome also. I have seen that my pc case is on offer at the moment, and am hesitant about whether to go and get it now or not. I will not be able to afford the rest of the build for a god few months, (I'm only 19 and am about to leave college, so not got a job yet).

should I just get the case and keep it in storage for the few months, or wait, and then have to pay more for the case. also if I get the case now, will their be any problems that may go unnoticed with the case. I would not have thought so as the only electrical parts are the wires and on button, but an opinion on this would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
It may turn out that the case has an issue with one of your components or something may come out in the interim that is better and cheaper.... either way your 30 day return window will be expired. Cases go on special ever other week or so..... as time goes on they only get cheaper.

how do you mean the case might have a problem with another component. do you mean the wires may not go in to their respective headers on the Mobo or do you refer to component size.
if component size then I know that all my selected parts will fit inside this case.

another point to add on, is that my return and warranty for the case will be voided anyway, as the company I am buying the case from is going to cut the side panel open, to allow for a bigger window to be installed on the side of the case.

im sure the case will fit everything. it is the NZXT Phantom 410, so quite a large mid tower case really. as I say the warranty on the case is screwed anyway, and the company I am getting it from offer only 10 days returns, so I have even less time anyway. PC Part Picker says it will fit all my listed parts so im happy with that.

I wouldn't trust PCpartpicker.... I have found errors in the past and they still think RAM over 1.5 volt RAM is a conflict despite almost every set if RAM over 2133 on Intel's Official Certified Compatible RAM List being certified at 1.65 volts.

The CPU cooler limit is 170mm which knocks out for example the Phanteks PH-TC14-PE (171mm w/ fans)

You can't fit a Gigabyte GTX 970 in the 410 without removing the HD cage. In fact pcpartpicker states:

The NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 305mm long, but video cards over 230mm may block drive bays.

That's 9.05". Other than the special ITX cards, the Asis Strix is the only nVidia 900 series card I can recall being less than 9.5"

When I bought my Enthoo Primo, another user on OCN bought one at the same time while he was waiting for the rest of his build components to be released. Well before those components were on the market, he changed his mind and wound up giving away the Primo. You can read about is experience on overclock.net Enthoo Primo Owners Club Thread

You asked if you should get the case before the other stuff but you seem set on getting it regardless. Interestingly enough, I was doing a build for one of my sons friends and he had the 410 on his list. I suggested he visit the local Microcenter to see the case for himself before pulling the trigger and he came back wanting a new case. The main thing was while it looked good in pictures, standing in front of it he was dismayed somewhat about the heavy use of plastic but the fact that the metal and plastic parts where different shades he found off putting. The lack of dust filters in the from was another thing he didn't realize and was also concerned about the durability of the door catch.

If getting it early does something for ya in some way by all mean do so, but I can't see one advantage in doing so..... whatever price it is today will be back again and again before you are ready to buy the rest.

Regarding the looks of the 410 case, I think the white version is rubbish, plastic Nd metal look different colours. However the gunmetal case seems to look pretty good. I have chosen this case, for three reasons. One I love the style, not so keen on the plastic roger but love the style all the same. Two it has all the things I am looking for, three drive bays, many fan points, window... And three it is big enough for expand ability in the future and is small enough (just) to get up my loft ladder. My study is in the converted loft, but there is no proper staircase. Plus space in at a premium up There so the case must fit my table. And just does.

I know all my parts will fit, have seen many videos of others using similarly sized parts or same parts in the 410 without problem.

As for the hatch on the front of the case, I am either going to see how I get on with it, and then may remove it. It looks to be fitted via two small metal hinges, with small screws so removing looks easy. It will change look of case, but can just put back on if I think the case really needs it.

As for the lack if dust filters. The case does have crappy ones on front and base, but I'm going to get some third party ones made for this case and mount them myself. They are cheap but do the job.

Wish I could go somewhere to see the case, but I live in the uk, on the south coast, the nearest shop to stock it Uzbek a place called kustom pcs in the north of Scotland, not exactly a short walk down the road. This is wherei am buying the case, and are the people who will be cutting the window hole out for me.
