For some reason my computer will not start at all, the motherboard shows that it is getting power. Originally I noticed that it would not start at all when I pressed the power button on my case, so I checked the pwr sw pins to see if that was the problem and it still didnt boot. I tested my power suppy using the paper clip trick and when i plug in the 24 pin connector to my mobo with the paper clip attached the fans and my gpu start up but there is no display. I also tried using a screwdriver to start the system by placing it on the pwr switch pins but that does nothing. So the question is should I buy a new mobo, or is it my power supply?

Asus P8z77-v
Corsair Tx 750m

1)Try the paper clip to test the psu only first. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixcWCrYpw3Y If it works, go to #2 step.
2)Then start with MB w/ cpu +cooler, using onboard iGPU. If the cpu works ( check it in other system if you have one, or in your friend pc) and it does not boot and no beeps at all, that means the MB has problem.
3)Then add one stick RAM, boot the pc to see it boot or not.
4)Next add the GPU. Boot the PC.
After that you may find out which part is bad.
