Recently I bought my G Skill F3-149010S-8GBXL RAM. It was running fine till last night at 1866MHz speed. Basically I had copied the XMP Profile 2 timings, disabled Profile & manually fed all the timings. Today my computer did cold boot & reset back to 1333MHz. Now I am unable to run this at 1866MHz. Currently its running at XMP profile 1 which is 1600MHz. Has the RAM gone bad? It looks like that way but if anybody has any clue what might be the problem here..........

So far I have tried:

    All 4 slots
Increased RAM foltage to 1.6 & Vtt to 1.2V.
    Used auto timings

Unfortunately I don't have a spare computer or a friend nearby to check the RAM. I have ordered a replacement. Once I plug that in I will know what the trouble is.

Updated the signature finally. I couldn't find the Edit button on Chrome yesterday. My CPU is overclocked to 4.4GHz & motherboard is GA-Z68XP-UD4. Like I said it was working on 1866MHz for the past 10 days. Next morning when I turn on my PC it went into cold boot & reverted to 1333MHz. Now everytime it does that when I set the frequency manually to 1866MHz even when the CPU is overclocked or not. It runs absolutely fine on 1600MHz XMP Profile 1 without any sort of modification. I have tried everything I could think of in the Bios settings, searched on almost every similar thread on the internet & found no solution.

Well I have unplugged the stick & am waiting for the replacement. The timings shown in CPU-Z are the same mentioned on the RAM's package: 10-11-10-30 & 2T.

I have been using manual timings since the day I plugged it in. I basically copied the XMP profile 2 timings, then disabled XMP profile & used the timings manually with 18.66 SPD multiplier set. It was running great till the 10th day. Now both manual as well as auto XMP profile timings don't work. Computer simply refuses to boot at 1866MHz. I even tried loosening the timings to 11-12-11-32, increasing the voltage to 1.6V then 1.65V, increased Vtt from 1.05 to 1.2V. Nothing works. The replacement would arrive in a day or two. I am disappointed with this GSKill RAM. Everybody told me to jump at this because the quality is great. My 4 year old Corsair RAMs rated at 1333MHz are still running smooth.

Now its working. I have no idea what worked but I changed tRFC to 255 & rebooted. That worked. Slowly I brought it back to 244 default & its still running at 1866MHz.
