Hi
My computer deny to start with more than x2 ram inside. I've tested all 4 of the ram chips and they all seem to work. But if i use x3 ram chips the computer starts with but the screen is black. And if i put in x4 ram chips the computer sounds like its booting, it tries to start but suddenly shuts off and tries to boot again and repeats untill i cut the power. (this i assume is BSOD)

And it just works if i use the two slots closest to the CPU

Mother board: Z97 gaming 3
Ram: x4 4gb Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz

Sorry for asking, I usually answer only to the op, but your post does intrigue me. Are you saying that one can't use 4 RAM sticks with Z97 boards, but only 2?

Yes, I've tested all slots with a single RAM stick, just the two closest to the CPU start without shutting down instant...

Not sure how i test the board outside the case, but I've checked the socket for bent pins, couldnt see any..
