Greetings.

I've been trying to get display from the graphics card but it just goes into standby. This happens as soon as the pc boots, post screen not visible. However, if I plug it into the onboard VGA graphics I see it's booting into windows. I borrowed a friend's graphics card with VGA and DVI ports to see if it's the pci-e lane and it works on VGA port but not DVI port.

I've tried resetting bios and updating which worked but still no display from graphics card. I've tried searching for bios settings to perhaps enable DVI but haven't found anything or I can't see any related settings.

Specs
Mobo: H61M-P25 (B3)
CPU: i3 2120
Graphics Card: N450gts cyclone
VGA LCD used with adapter

Any help will be highly appreciated!

Thanks.

Not sure why but the new graphics card I bought works just fine even with the LCD VGA monitor using an adapter and the new led dvi monitor. The new card is GTX 480 and old card is N450GTS Cyclone. The N450GTS still works as I tested it again on the other pc, so still confused. The only difference I notice is the black DVI ports on the GTX480 and the blue DVI ports on the N450GTS Cyclone and the card that the mobo was tested with was GTX295 which also sports the black DVI ports.

mmm. This is Flatron W1941S lcd monitor and I think it's analog only. I've tried another type dvi connector but it's still a no go and I've plugged it into the mobo dvi port as well and it just says - Check Signal Cable.

I most likely need to get another monitor?

Try another monitor, or cable with your current videocard.

Hi. Today I've tried a new dvi monitor with dvi to dvi cable. It works when I connect it to the dvi port on the motherboard but when I try it on the graphics card dvi port it shows, "No Video Signal." It then goes into sleep mode. I've reset the bios again for this new configuration but still no luck.

The dvi port on motherboard is white/cream and the dvi cable is the same colour whilst my graphics card dvi ports are blue, does that mean anything?

- Graphics cards has X2 DVI-I (Dual Link) - (Not giving display)
- Motherboard DVI port has DVI-D (Dual Link) - (Works! does give display)

- DVI cable is DVI-D (Single Link)

Don't know if that's important?

Oh yes, I've also tried connecting both vga (to motherboatrd) and dvi (to graphics card) simultaneously and then switched to DVI on the monitor settings but it gives the same message, " No Video Signal" and then goes to sleep mode.

The system does post, it boots into windows even if there's no signal.

What I do find odd is that windows doesn't detect the graphics card. The graphics card works as I checked it this morning in my other system. It detected my friend's graphics card in windows which worked with vga port but not dvi port.

Could be the PSU isn't providing enough power or it's not plugged in correctly.
PCIe slot isn't working correctly, motherboard might be toast.
