For the past few days my wireless connection will drop from 75-100Mbps to 1Mbps, despite having "Excellent" signal strength, other machines connected to the wireless router do not experience this issue.

If I disconnect and then reconnect to the network, the connection speed will go back to the usual 75-100 until the issue occurs again for whatever reason.

I've got a wireless PCI Adapter card by Edimax, it's been working flawlessly for a year until now.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated in figuring out what's causing this?

Is there anything else happening at this time?
Did you update something else recently?

It may also be something like a neighbor having a new wireless network on the same channel as yours.

If you have an android phone, you can use a free app called 'wifi analyzer' to see what your neighbors might have. Or on a windows pc, you can get INSSIDer software to check things out.

I'm not aware of any updates that occurred during this issue.

Other devices don't experience this issue so I can't see it being due to other routers being on the same channel.
