Phone Says It's Connected to WiFi But Internet Doesn't Work

I have an android (LG) and my service provider is with boost mobile. Someone else has to pay my bill (I can't do it myself) and my service is out. I know I have to use WiFi for now but when my phone says I'm connected to a WiFi hotspot, I can't browse the web or use apps. Please help me because I have been frustrated for days and I need to check my email frequently (my placement only allows me on the computer at certain times and there's only ONE computer and about 20 other people) I would appreciate it very much.

Try swiping down from the top of the home screen and make sure data is enabled.

You can also turn on WiFi calling, but it won't work until you register an address for e991 to use if you call 911. (except it messes up sometimes and will let you call anyway)
