Hi, I just built my first pc but my asus r9 290 won't work properly. I have windows 8.
In device manager display adapters my gpu shows up as "microsoft basic display adapter". And if I open gpu tweak it gives me this message Fail to load dlls. Please install VGA driver. I used the autodetectutility from amd to get the latest driver and installed it but that didn't fix my problem. I went to device manager again and tried to find a update by updating my "microsoft basic display adapter" but it said that it was up to date. I think I need to download an other driver but I don't know from where or which one.
This might be a stupid noob mistake I'm new to pc building.
Thank you for the help in advance I can't wait to finally after all these hours be able to play on my r9 290.
It will really make me very happy if you guys can help me.

Thank you for the quick answer. I have windows 8 instead of 8.1 does it matter?

Yes it matters.
I would advise you to update your window 8 to 8.1 as it is much better.

But here the latest driver for Window 8:

Do I need to uninstall my current driver or something? Or do I only need to download and install the new driver you linked me?
