Will PCIe 3.0 motherboard work with PCIe 2.1 graphic card?

I'm about to upgrade my pc, but step by step. I'm about to buy an Asrock Z77 (with pci-e 3.0) but I have (for now) an ATI 5850 (with pci-e 2.1) (which still works amazing and runs all my games at full config. And that's my question. Would I be still able to use my graphic card? Thanks a lot!

Yes they are backward compatible.

yes..pci-e 3.0 is backward compatible with 2.1.
