I am installing a Radeon HD 6950.

When i plug it into the motherboard with all power cables and such, and turn on the PC, there is nothing displayed on the monitor. After 4 or 5 seconds, 8 beeps come from the mother board.

This GPU was being used without problems up until the day that it was given to me (by a friend) so i know this is not the problem.

I have a 650 watt power supply so i doubt this is the problem.

Before installing the GPU, i downloaded the updated drivers for it, and deleted the old drivers from my previous GPU.

What should i do?

Dumb question, but you're plugging your monitor into the GPU, not the motherboard right? Happens more often than you think ;).

What's the brand of your motherboard. I've heard of MSI motherboards giving off 8 beeps when a faulty GPU was detected.

Did you enable PCIe video in your BIOS?
