Can someone please help? I just opened up my pc and removed a lot of dust from the inside but I doesn't seem to have done anything.. Also I haven't overclocked but I am running on asus optimal mode.

I think that may be your problem, running stress tests on a standard stock cooler is never ideal, i understand why people use them but i would strongly advise you get a third party cooler such as a Cooler Master hyper 212 evo.

If you want a smaller, cheaper and easier to install cooler then the smaller brother to the 212 is worth a try which is called the cooler master TX3 Evo.

Best of luck!

Yea I read that too but still last night when I had been playing BF4 on ultra for about 3 hours the cputin was at 90 and I started lagging. But maybe thats just because it throttles based off the cputin and not the core temp?

Hmm okay so I just ran a gimp5 stress test and on hwmonitor my cpu core temp was around 95-100 (!!!!!!) but it said my cputin was around 20-30.
The second I stopped the test the cputin went back up to like 70-80 and then cpu core temp went back down to around 40.
Seems legit.

Okay thank you very much! I kinda thought this would be what I would have to do so thanks. I'll save up some money so I can buy a new heatsink.
