MSI 770 2gb or gigabyte R9 290 4gb?

Hey there toms :)

I recently got an offer to trade my MSI 770 (and 45 usd) for a gigabyte R9 290 - would you guys do it?

Depends on your monitor setup. If you have a 4K monitor you may see some benefit. Otherwise they are comparable in processing power, and you could just save your money. The R9 290 also will support freesync if that's a thing you are looking forward to.

If the card is not faultx and you are 100% sure that it dont have any problems then yes. But make sure before u do the deal. Run firestrike . Unigime heaven unigine valley . Chech benchmarks on google to compare. If the card is fine do it

even at 1080p the 290 is much stonger than 770 let alone 4K and in fact the 290 is even stronger than 780 by 1 to 3 percent.

Depending on the game you are playing it will vary between no noticeable increase, 10% for bioshock infinite, and 30% under optimal conditions (1080p). The 770 is more power efficient and less loud under load. It really depends on what you value more, and how big of an upgrade you're looking for.
