Hi Guys

Normally I tend to spend alot of time and figure out these things on my own, But this has baffled me as to why my graphics wont work. My Current Build :

Case: Thermaltake Core V21
CPU: 3.40 gigahertz Intel Sandybridge i7-2600K Unlocked Core i7 Quad-Core Processor Socket 1155
GPU: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card
Mobo: ASRock B75 Pro3-M
Ram: Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9 Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz
And 2 Hard drives (cannot remember spec)
Windows 7 64 bit
Hanns.G Hi221 [Monitor]

Ok I know alot of the parts are old nowadays but it still is or was a really nice system running !

Background:
So Previously this system built was in another old Case but INSTEAD with Mobo H77 Asrock/ Nvdia GTS 260. It Ran fine for a good few years , then my display output started playing up one day, so as I just assumed it was the Graphics card, I simply bought the 750 TI last year & replaced it , it seemed to work perfectly fine after. Please note the 750 TI was connected to the monitor via VGA, not DVI through an Adapter like the GTS 260.

Situation now :
Now a few months later, and something similar seemed to happen where It just failed on me again but this time with the new GTX 750 Ti. I also had various times where the power would just cut off , which was really weird .

As the case was old I thought maybe there was alot of dust or something was shorting with the mobo & failing to give power . As I had a new PSU and a not so old Mobo, I tried getting a new case .
And Again Graphics card not working,

If I connect the graphics card with power , the green light is on & the fans are working , so i know it is on. But the monitor will not show any signal.
I tried with it still connected but instead the monitor connected to the onboard graphics & again no signal.
It is only when I disconnected power from the GTX card that I get signal from the onboard graphics.
I thought maybe it could be the monitor itself , but that works perfectly fine with the onboard graphics.

  • So in conclusion Ive tried a new Mobo, New Case , ive tried a different power supply.
Ive tried the Old GTS 260, as well as an old back up PCIexpress graphics card.
Ive tried connecting the Graphics card via HDMI to a TV as a different source of output.
Ive tried this program called DDU to clear all drivers & reinstall Nvdia latest.
As the GTX 750 TI is only 7 months old & hardly used when purchased , I would like to think that it isnt the problem, but im not totally sure.

Only thing left I might try is to reinstall Windows , but I thought Id ask you guys first if you had a solution .

Very much appreciate any help !

Thanks
Paul

What power supply are you using? Make sure the power supply is set to the correct voltage for your house. Some power supplies have a switch, others will detect the voltage automatically. You might try to clear the CMOS. If you experienced the same problem with your old graphics card it's unlikely that the new card is the issue. I would also check that all the power supply connections are secure.

Hi Brickfoot,

Thanks for your input.
My PSU is Corsair CX600M, I do not see any switch you refer to so im guessing it does it automatically , if thats the case not much I can change. As for the CMOS, like I said I just switched it to a brand new Motherboard so I dont think it would give any problems with that. I Did however Try clearing Cmos with my previous Motherboard & also produced no results.
The psu has 2 xPcie power connections , (6pin) I have tried both , Power is running tothe GFX card as the light is green & the fans spin.

Thanks still though .
