Can't get cpu heatsink mount back on am3 socket

I was replacing the cpu (socket am3) and also took off my aftermarket heatsink (Zalman cnps5x) and I am now trying to put it back on and the screws will not insert into the holes. I don't know if it even goes back on, help please!

For the AMD installation, it looks like you attach the two tabs with the two screws (loosely) before you put the cooler in place. Put the cooler in place and snap the metal tab over the plastic mounting ear on each side of the AMD bracket. Then, tighten the screws. Same as the video above, but the plastic ears are already on the AMD brackets. You don't need the round black plastic ring shown in the video.
