Hey guys, I just put my razer blade 14inch (2013) 128gb ssd in recovery mode. When I opened up my computer storage it says I only have 65.9gb available, and I didn't install anything yet. When I bought this laptop it had around 100gb of storage and not 65.9gb which I find extremely frustrating and strange because I cant find a way to use my proper storage. Currently I am using disk clean up to see if it works and its taking forever at 'windows update cleanup". Anyone know a solution to my problem that would be greatly appreaciated. Also, Im not that good with terms so if you could explain more that would be great thanks.( Also does this have to do with activating windows?) http://prntscr.com/692t22 of the disk management, I don't know why there are like 4 different storages.

Hey, but when I received my laptop from the company it already had windows installed on it so how come this time its only giving me 65gb instead of something close to 100? And if that's the only solution is there anyway to move windows from the ssd?

what laptop have you got? and ya as you active it and install the updates it uses more space. I would leave windows where it is as to remove it you would need the install disk to un install and re install to a different drive

I have the Razer blade 14 2013 model but I still don't know why it's taking more space than it should be

So you just have the SSD? if so then everything you install, programs, saved files, windows updates, those language packs windows like to make you install, they will all take up space on the SSD

Yes the laptop only comes with an ssd but it already had Windows installed on it when I bought it, so it's illogical that it has 65 gb in comparison to 100 when I had the exact same stuff as before. Can you check out the screenshot I posted maybe it can be useful, and thanks for the replies .

So the version of windows installed is normally fairly old update wise if that makes sense, so when you first booted the laptop, it would have updated everything, which is a few GB straight off the bat, while the 102GB is how much space that drive would have when it is completely empty, say if you bought another one and plugged it in for example, so depending on the model of windows you use, the amount of space it uses changes, for example, windows 7 ultimate uses around 30-35 gb before you update it, then goes up as you update, then every single piece of software you install, takes up more room

ya so as you can see windows is using 26.6 gb of the 102gb on the drive, downside to a single drive laptop using as SSD is space, as the SSD's are really expensive compared to HDD's
