Hello,
I have an ASUS q501la that I have installed windows 7 on from windows 8. Most everything seems to work fine except the wifi. I thought at first it was just the wifi card that wasn't windows 7 compatible, but I replaced the wifi card with an intel 7260 wireless dualband ac chip. The wifi bars are there but they have a red x through them. There are no connections that are available. I dont think it is the antennae because I can get my bluetooth through the wifi chip since that is the only bluetooth that I have. I have a set of devices in device manager that are not working. The two that caught my attention were the same and they read "PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller" the others are " PCI simple communications controller" "SM bus controller" "usb2.0 CRW" and some unknown device. I am not sure where to attain the drivers to fix this because I have been searching everywhere and finding nothing. I do think that there are fixes out there I just cant find them.

Well it would seem that system was built for Windows 8+.

There are no drivers on the ASUS website for Windows 7 for this system.

So I'm guessing it's basic incompatibility with Windows 7 that is your problem.
