I was moving files from my desktop to the hard drive, the hard drive after 30m-1hour, made a sound and turned off. It is not turning on anymore. I plugged the socket out and re-plugged in, still the same problem. What should I do to repair it or to save the files from it?

Hi there TahirAhmad,

You should start with changing the USB cable(try another power one if the model requires it). You can attach the drive to another port as well.
If the issue persists though, and want the data stored on it, you may need to take the drive out of the enclosure and connect it internally through SATA. Keep in mind that this may void the warranty.
It this doesn't work as well, then the HDD may have some mechanical problem.

Hope this will help,
