New Build PC no video, no beep

Hi,
my son has built himself a PC with parts that we bought off Amazon. After he built it and we switched it on nothing happened. So we moved the cmos jumper (as we had read that this could help) and then it started (fans on, LED's on) but there was no beep and there was no video output.

At first I thought that it was the RAM as when I checked it was not on the compatible list for the mother board so I changed the RAM, but it was still the same, I have followed some of the solutions I have read on the internet, such as removing everything then putting it back one piece at a time, but it was still the same.

I then took the PC to a repair shop and they told me that it was the mother board, I did not let them fix it because they only use ASUS and I would have had to virtually buy everything again (not that I am far off in any case) so I bought another MB exactly the same installed it but the PC is still the same...Any ideas.....anyone have any similar experiences?

Thanks in advance...

These are the specs:

AMD A10 5800K Black Edition CPU (3.8GHZ, 4MB Cache, 4 Core, HD7660D, Socket FM2, 100W

HyperX Fury Memory Black Memorie RAM, 8 GB, 1866 MHz
Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card (2GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0)
Seagate ST1000DM003 3.5 inch 1TB Barracuda Hard Drive
Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU
AsRock FM2A75 PRO4+ Motherboard (Socket FM2, AMD A75 FCH, DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI Express 2.0, 7.1 Channel HD Audio, Supports THX TruStudio)

Hello!

From what I am seeing it seems to be either a motherboard or APU issue.

I would suggest in future using PCPartPicker to select parts for your computer (or this forum).

Is there any error code on the motherboard and does anything power on?

The computer might be trying to boot using the on-board video. It has display outputs on the back (VGA & DVI). So you may need to remove the nVidia graphics card, plug a cord into the on-board display ports, and see if it'll boot. If so, you would need to get into the BIOS and change the video output to PCI-E instead of on-board. Let me know if anything helps.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I already replaced the mother board with a new one exactly the same and did not help. Sorry for my ignorance, but what and where is the APU.

Thanks!

Hi, I did try removing the graphics card with the first motherboard, and connecting to the mother board video output but it was just the same no beep and no video.
Thanks again!

Sounds similar to what has happened to me recently. I too diagnosed the motherboard to be at fault from things I'd read online and advise given here so bought a new MB and CPU to upgrade my system only to have the same problem!

The only thing left that was common was the PSU (power supply) and I suspect that is the case with yours as well. As you mention it's a new build, double check all the connectors before you rush off to buy a new one, the MB should have two, a 4 pin and 20 pin, make sure these are seated properly.

It could be PSU. I had a family member have that happen to a new computer build, thinking it was the video card, it turned out being the PSU (it wouldn't post a screen after pushing the power button). If you have another desktop, you could always try using it's power supply to see if it'll post a screen when booting. I wouldn't recommend having the nVidia card installed unless the PSU is close to the 750W in the new computer.

I checked the CPU(APU)+Motherboard, and they show that they're compatible. So that could narrow it down to PSU.
